From political gerrymandering of districts to the calculation of prison beds, students will be encouraged to use (and develop) their math skills in order to see more clearly the world around them.
Tools needed for this class include (but are not limited to):
1) Pencil and paper
Instructor: Dionne Willis is the homeschooling mother of four children (ages 5-15), and is incredibly blessed to be able to participate in her children's education! She has a degree in Mathematics and more than 20 years of classroom teaching experience in middle and high school grades. Her dream is to educate children about self-sufficiency on her yet-to-be-purchased multi-acre estate. For now, she will settle for backyard chickens and an urban garden.
