Learn how to be a DIY ECO-gardener and grow food at home. In this course, you will become more sustainability-minded and self-sufficient as you creatively repurpose waste materials in your weekly food growing projects. We’ll explore how our human actions impact our planet and our surrounding communities.
Tools needed for this class include (but are not limited to):
1) Craft Materials: Scissors, String, Tape, Permanent Markers, Stapler, Gloves (optional), Variety of used Containers (emphasis on single-use plastics), Scrap waterproof Materials (non-electric), Scrap cardboard/paper materials, Acrylic Paints, Brushes
2)Paper and Pencil (brainstorming sketching and note-taking)
Instructor: Samuel Pressman is an Ecological Systems & Food Garden Designer+Builder who strives to work with schools and youth groups in low income (underserved) communities. He graduated from Pratt Institute with a Master's in Sustainable Environmental Systems (2019). He was born in Peru (adopted at age 7), is fluent in Spanish and basic French, and loves to spend his time outside in nature. He is a passionate food growing educator and youth ECO engager in the field of Social+Racial+Climate Justice, and works to cultivate Community Unity through Sustainability.
Should you need to cancel a class, refunds will be handled in the following way: 90% will be refunded through May 22, 2022. 50% will be refunded May 23-May 30. No refunds after May 30.
